Hybrid vehicles combine the efficiency of electric power with the reliability of a traditional gasoline engine. They offer drivers better fuel economy and reduced emissions. To keep your hybrid running at peak performance, specialized maintenance and repairs are essential. At McNeil's Auto Care, we are the go-to choice for hybrid service.

Hybrid systems have unique components such as high-voltage batteries, regenerative braking, and electric motors that require specialized attention. Over time, battery performance may decline, and components like the inverter and cooling system need to be inspected regularly to prevent issues. Without proper maintenance, your hybrid may experience performance problems.

At McNeil's Auto Care, our trained technicians use advanced diagnostic tools to service all types of hybrid vehicles. Whether you need a battery health check, an inverter repair, or routine hybrid system maintenance, we have the expertise, tools, and equipment to keep your hybrid vehicle in tip-top shape.

Hybrid batteries are designed to last for many years, but they do degrade over time. If you notice a decline in fuel efficiency or reduced electric power, stop by for diagnostics.

Not all shops have the specialized training and tools required for hybrid service. At McNeil's Auto Care, we employ technicians who are experienced in handling hybrid-specific repairs and maintenance.

While hybrids require fewer oil changes and brake replacements, they still need regular inspections of other areas such as electrical components, batteries, and cooling systems.

Keep your hybrid vehicle running efficiently with professional service from McNeil's Auto Care. Our talented technicians are here to support you with hybrid maintenance, battery diagnostics, and so much more. Visit one of our locations or schedule an appointment today!

Hybrid Repair and Service, answered

Can any auto shop service hybrid vehicles?
Not all shops have the specialized training and tools that hybrid work requires, particularly around high voltage systems. McNeil's technicians are trained on hybrid specific repairs and maintenance, and hybrid diagnosis and service is handled in house at both shops rather than referred elsewhere.
Does a hybrid require less maintenance than a traditional vehicle?
In some areas, yes. Hybrids typically need fewer oil changes and their brake pads last longer because regenerative braking does much of the work. They still need regular inspection of the electrical components, battery and cooling systems, along with tires, suspension and brake fluid.
How long do hybrid batteries last?
Hybrid batteries are designed to last many years and are usually among the longer lived components on the vehicle. Gradually falling fuel economy or a warning light are the usual first indications of a weakening pack, and our technicians can test its condition and tell you what they find.
What hybrid systems does McNeil's work on?
Our technicians handle hybrid diagnosis and service across the high voltage system, regenerative braking, and the cooling systems that keep the pack within temperature. Both shops are EV certified, and qualifying repairs carry a 36 month, 36,000 mile nationwide warranty.
How much does hybrid service cost?
Routine hybrid maintenance is comparable to a conventional vehicle, and often less, because there are fewer oil changes and brakes last longer. High voltage work is priced by the job. We confirm the price before starting, and qualifying repairs carry a 36 month, 36,000 mile warranty.
