Regular oil changes ensure your engine runs efficiently, reduce wear and tear, and can even prolong the life of your car.

Regular oil changes ensure your engine runs efficiently, reduce wear and tear, and can even prolong the life of your car. At McNeil's Auto Care, we are experts in oil changes, and our professional technicians are here to provide high-quality oil change services at all of our locations.
Engine oil lubricates, cools, and cleans internal components, preventing excessive wear and tear. Over time, motor oil is prone to become contaminated with dirt, debris, and sludge, making it less effective at doing its job and causing your engine to work harder as a result. Without regular oil changes, your engine can suffer from decreased performance, increased fuel consumption, and even damage.
Our expert technicians have access to various engine oils to meet your vehicle’s specifications. We also inspect essential components, including the oil filter, fluid levels, and overall engine health.
Oil changes are completed quickly, and with multiple locations, you're never far from a McNeil's Auto Care when your automobile needs service. We’ll let you know as soon as your vehicle’s service is complete.
It depends on your vehicle and the type of oil you use. Generally, you can go longer between oil changes with synthetic oil over conventional oil. Always refer to your owner's manual for the manufacturer's recommendations.
Most vehicles have an oil change indicator light or message that will alert you when it's time for service. Additionally, you can check your oil level and condition using the dipstick under the hood.

Questions
Oil Change, answered
- How often should I change my oil?
- It depends on your vehicle and the type of oil you use. Generally you can go longer between changes with synthetic oil than with conventional. Always refer to your owner's manual for the manufacturer's recommendation, since modern engines vary far more than the old three thousand mile rule suggests.
- How do I know when it is time for an oil change?
- Most vehicles have an oil change indicator light or message that alerts you when service is due. You can also check the level and condition yourself using the dipstick under the hood. Oil that is very dark and thin, or below the minimum mark, needs attention.
- How long does an oil change take?
- Oil changes are completed quickly, and with two locations you are never far from a McNeil's shop when your vehicle needs service. We let you know as soon as the work is complete, and our technicians inspect essential components while the vehicle is on the lift.
- Is synthetic oil worth the extra cost?
- For most modern engines it is. Synthetic oil resists heat and breakdown better than conventional, protects more effectively during cold starts, and allows longer intervals between changes. Some engines specifically require it, and using conventional oil in those can affect both performance and warranty coverage.
- How much is an oil change?
- The cost depends on how much oil your engine takes and whether it needs conventional, synthetic blend or full synthetic. Synthetic costs more per change but runs longer between them. We confirm the price for your vehicle before starting, and inspect essential components while it is on the lift.
